Basta Engineering, Inc. was incorporated in 1995 as an engineering company dedicated to provide our customers with the highest quality firmware and software development services.  Over the years our focus has shifted from developing products for other companies, to developing and marketing our own products, namely the Meter Monitor data acquisition software package.  We are very excited about the opportunities and challenges that product gave us. We believe that we offer a superb product for a fraction of a cost compared to other similar products available on the market. The Meter Monitor started as a data acquisition software capable of polling data from meters manufactured by a selected number of companies. Over the years it evolved into a product that is capable of acquiring data from all meters that support the Modbus RTU protocol.  Whether it is steam, gas, hot/chilled liquid, water, temperature compensated liquid or other meter type, the Meter Monitor can be easily set to acquire data from any meter supporting the Modbus RTU protocol.  In the near future we have plans to support the HART protocol and to make the Meter Monitor equally settable, so any meter supporting that protocol can be accessed by the software package.

We believe that the Meter Monitor is the most versatile data acquisition software package available today.  Taking into account that it is one of the least expensive (if not the least expensive) product of its king, we are convinced that we bring an exceptional value to our customers.  The Meter Monitor enables our customers to automatically acquire and store data from meters that are networked over the old fashioned modems or over the LAN.  In both cases our customers can easily generate periodic usage reports, billings, compiled data comparisons and other.  They can monitor their meters in real-time (if they are connected through the LAN), or analyze data afterwards.  Whatever our customers do, the Meter Monitor enables them to significantly reduce their operating costs.

In addition to supporting meters which use the Modbus RTU protocol and supporting a number of companies with proprietary protocols, we are enthusiastic to consider strategic partnership with other flow, electric, temperature and pressure meters and data logger manufacturers. We believe that, if we have more partners in the flow/temperature/pressure/electric metering world, we would have a better and more versatile product.
